Mari Ichimasu (she/her) is a Seattle-located artist from Ichikawa, Chiba prefecture, Japan. She moved to Seattle, Washington, on the ancestral lands of the Duwamish and Coast Salish peoples in 2009. Since then, she has been creating art and music, nourished by and in resonance with the misty conifer rainforests and the Puget Sound.

In 2022, she published Fur Coats & Backpacks, a book of her watercolor-illustrated Travel Cats and poetry, through Chin Music Press. In 2024, she formed the band Bow & Yarrow with her partner, Tony, and self-released an EP. She writes songs, sings, and plays guitar for the project. She also works on her stop-motion animated short film Sanpomichi.

Alongside her music, visual art, and filmmaking, she continues to explore and practice the art of Sound healing with her alchemy crystal bowls.

千葉県市川市出身、シアトルを拠点に活動するアーティスト。2009年春、デュワミッシュ族およびコースト・サリッシュ族の人々の先住の地であるワシントン州シアトルへ移住む。以来、霧雨に包まれる針葉樹の森とピュージェット湾に魅了され、ハートに共鳴しながら、創作活動と音楽活動を続けている。

2022年に旅する猫たちの姿を水彩絵の具で描いたシリーズの詩集『Fur Coats & Backpacks』をChin Music Pressより出版。2025年春に第２版をリリース予定。2024年よりパートナーのTonyとともにバンド「Bow & Yarrow」を結成し、EPをセルフリリース。ギター、ボーカル、ソングライティングを担当。長旅のストップモーション・アニメーション短編映画『Sanpomichi』の制作もつづける。

音楽や視覚アート、映像の創作活動と並行し、サウンドヒーリングや意識の世界を日々探究・実践しながら、今ココにいきる。
